| | | | TWO THINGS YOU MUST DO TO BE SAVED How to Communicate Essential Gospel Truths to the Lost Sam Waldron
The purpose of this book is to help you communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly, accurately and more effectively with others. It is not intended as a 'Gospel tract,' but as a tool for you to be more proficient as an ambassador for Christ and His Kingdom. While it is quite fine to use this book as an evangelistic study, it is more accurate to say that this book is a study guide for those who want to be evangelists. As such, it will help you to be more accurate in your approach to presenting Gospel truth to the unsaved; and perhaps give more clarity to those who are saved, but have trouble articulating what it means to 'be saved.'
This book will be absolutely invaluable to pastor and layperson alike, both now and in the future, since these eternal verities never change. With Biblical ignorance being epidemic, both in the secular world and among those in the church, this is a timely book that will be essential for the work of true evangelism!
Dr. Samuel E. Waldron is noted pastor, author and teacher. He holds a Th.M from from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and a Ph.D from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. Among his many other books are The End Times Made Simple and Two Be Continued: Are the Miraculous Gifts for Today?

From 1978 to 1998, Pastor A.N. Martin taught Pastoral Theology in the Trinity Ministerial Academy, a church-based ministerial training institution. Every Friday throughout the academic year, all the students would gather for two hours of teaching presented in a four-year cycle. Subsequently various series of the audiotapes were widely circulated.
Many expressed their desire to see these lectures printed. As an intermediate step in responding to that desire, the Trinity Baptist Church eldership decided to encourage Pastor Martin to rework the original lectures and deliver them one ?nal time, while professionally recording them. This project was begun in 2007 and completed in 2012 with Pastor Martin teaching his entire Pastoral Theology course “one more time” to 25 to 30 men. The transcriptions of these DVD lectures constituted the basis for the ?rst draft of these edited lectures. Within these lectures there are very few issues faced by the ordinary pastor that are not addressed in one way or another. It is the author’s prayer that when all the volumes are nestled on the bookshelf of any pastor, that whatever his concern may be in conjunction with his pastoral labors, that he can expect that most likely, there is something in these volumes that would be of help to him. It is also the author’s prayer that even the most experienced pastor will ?nd in these pages much that will provoke him to pursue greater personal godliness, increased preaching effectiveness, and expanded pastoral usefulness.
“The first thing I did on my first day of ministry over twenty years ago was to start listening to Pastor Martin’s pastoral theology lectures on cassette tape (yes, that long ago). These addresses not only set my ministry on a biblical course but actually saved my ministry (and my sanity) more times than I can count. I’ve waited a long time to see this material in print and am so glad that present and future generations of pastors can benefit from it as I did (and still do).” —Dr. David Murray, Professor of Old Testament and Practical Theology, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan
“Dr. Al Martin poured a lifetime of study into lectures on the pastor and preaching. He delivered them annually to his Academy of theological students who met at the meeting place of his congregation in Montville, New Jersey. While he taught them he was engaged week by week in the dynamics of a growing and demanding pulpit and pastoral ministry… There is certainly a cry from a million hearts that today’s preaching should know more of the breath of heaven….May these volumes do much good all over the globe to assist the renewal of awakening ministries.” —Dr. Geoff Thomas, Pastor (retired), Alfred Place Baptist Church, Aberystwyth, Wales. Visiting Professor of Historical Theology, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary
“When I was a young minister, I came across a series of audio recordings by Al Martin that proved to be a gold mine of wisdom. Opening the Holy Scriptures and leaning on the solid teaching of classic writers, these Pastoral Theology lectures both clarified God’s calling and motivated God’s servants to preach God’s Word and shepherd His flock in accord with the whole counsel of God… About a decade later, when called upon to teach several courses in pastoral theology in the newly begun Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I listened to most of these lectures again and found them even more profitable the second time through. It is, therefore, a great joy for me that Pastor Martin has reworked this material in his senior years and that now these highly esteemed lectures are finally appearing in book form.” —From the Foreword by Dr. Joel R. Beeke, Pastor, Heritage Reformed Congregation, Grand Rapids, Michigan. President & Professor of Systematic Theology & Homiletics, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary

Notes
PRAISE FOR THIS BOOK:
"I have taught seminary courses on worship for over two decades only to encounter resistance to the idea that God regulates how corporate worship should be done. Even those most committed to biblical and doctrinal accuracy suddenly become relativists when discussing public worship. Enter Sam Waldron! How should we worship on a Sunday? Dr. Waldron’s answer is Scriptural, sensible, systematic, and (sometimes) strong. Is there a case for a regulative principle of worship? Read this book and find out." - Derek W. H. Thomas, Senior Minister, First Presbyterian Church, Columbia SC, Chancellor’s Professor, Reformed Theological Seminary, Teaching Fellow, Ligonier Ministries
"In the milieu of the worship wars that has taken place over the past three-four decades, a scriptural voice of sanctified reasoning calls out to the church today from Dr. Sam Waldron. With a masterly grasp of the Holy Scriptures and a keen understanding of the religious landscape, the reader is given a balanced and full-orbed prescription for worship from both the Old and New Testaments. It must be carefully noted that the triune God does not want worship of any sort or any kind! Instead, He wants worship that is acceptable (see Hebrews 12:28-29). I heartily commend How Then Should We Worship?, which will thoroughly instruct us in how to worship God acceptably." - Earl M. Blackburn, Senior Pastor, Heritage Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana
"Why do we care so much about how the church worships? Sam Waldron answers that question providing a strong defense of historic Reformed worship, its regulative principle, its authorized elements, and related issues. He writes for a Reformed Baptist audience, yet his argument is important for all serious disciples of Christ. We care, he answers, because it makes a difference if Scripture fills the elements of worship: if substantial portions are read; if whole books of the Bible are preached; if there is a full diet of Bible-filled prayer; if psalms are sung; if the Lord’s Supper is administered as a covenant meal. We care because it makes a difference if services are reverent rather than irreverent; God-centered rather than man-centered; gospel-structured rather than unstructured and random; Spirit-dependent rather than market driven; historically grounded rather than contemptuous of the past. It makes all the difference in the world if worship is conducted “according to Scripture” rather than “according to preference.” This is a work that deserves careful consideration from all those who wish their form of worship to be more, rather than less, pleasing to God." - Dr. Terry L. Johnson, Senior Minister, Independent Presbyterian Church, Savannah, GA
"I highly commend your reading of Dr. Sam Waldron’s new book, 'How Then Should We Worship?' With the biblical and exciting rediscovery of “the Doctrines of Grace” in the last sixty years, sola scriptura requires that reexamine more of the Bible’s truths. One of these truths is the modern debate about “the regulative principle of worship.” Is that principle biblical? If biblical, is it for all of life or especially for the worship and government of the church? Does the Bible make such a distinction or not? Even “reformed” people disagree between themselves (i. e., Frame, Gore vs. Waldron, Duncan).
Believing in the sufficiency of sola scriptura in all matters of faith and practice, Dr. Waldron brings a clarity to “the regulative principle of the church” which includes “the regulative principle of worship.” Worship debates have been raging for the past sixty years. Part of this is because biblical hermeneutics have been erroneous on certain texts as to their context and grammar. Dr. Waldron seeks to address such errors in an irenic and pastoral way. His applications go as far as the “Amen,” liturgical issues, the role of women in worship, worship music, and the difference between the circumstances of worship and the parts (elements) of worship.
I would want to use this text in a seminary level course yet for local church teaching as well. It is very readable and thorough. You will be well instructed, challenged, perhaps corrected, perhaps affirmed by this book. But you will have to read it to find out! As Dr. Waldron might ask: “Are you open to that?” This is a very needed work today for clarity between positions, for the hope of greater unity in Christ’s local church, and for a more irenic and civil discussion between parties involved. To God’s glory alone." - Pastor Fred A. Malone, Author of The Baptism of Disciples Alone, Professor of Pastoral Theology, CBTS, IRBS

click for details | | A REFORMED BAPTIST MANIFESTO: The New Covenant Constitution of the Church Samuel Waldron with Richard Barcellos
"The centuries old dispute concerning the nature of the church and all the important related issues may seem so complex as to defy clarification. Waldron's insightful discussion cuts through so much of the confusing rhetoric and allows the reader to see clearly the key elements of the differing positions in light of the teaching of God's Word regarding the New Covenant. Many will be blessed by this fresh approach." James R. White
"Of the many interfaces of theology, one fascinating area is the relationship of the New Covenant to the Old. What aspects of the Old Covenant were strictly dispensational, that is, applying to the Jews of Israel during the time they as a nation were living in that land and had a unique covenant relationship with God? What truths of the Old Testament have a permanent binding authority on the New Testament people of God? These studies are a modest step towards clearer thinking about revealed truth. May it be the first of many. We all need such light and direction as are to be found in these pages." Geoffrey Thomas
"It is the conviction of this author that confessional Reformed Baptist churches reflect the major distinctives of the New Covenant. In other words, what confessional Reformed Baptists endeavor to be is stated clearly in the terms of the New Covenant. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to set before you a Reformed Baptist Manifesto by means of an examination of the New Covenant as the Constitution of the Church. This assertion may seem arrogant. It is hoped, however, that the reader will simply permit the New Covenant to speak for itself and see the relevance and appropriateness of such a claim." - from the Introduction

TO BE CONTINUED
Tongues! Signs! Wonders!
Are they operative in the church of Jesus Christ today? Perhaps no subject is more debated in the church today than whether or not the 'miraculous sign' gifts are for today's believers. When someone says that they 'speak in tongues,' do they have biblical warrant to do so? Are they really speaking a divine language, or a mocking counterfeit? When someone claims that they can perform miracles because they are 'an apostle,' should we ask for proof, or simply tell them that it cannot be so since there are no apostles today? What about prophets? Are there any true prophets in the churches today?
Samuel E. Waldron builds systematic case for the complete cessation of the miraculous gifts as well as the office of Apostle and prophet. Building an insurmountable argument step by step, he shows that the Bible is quite clear on this issue.
If you are struggling to come to grips with what the Bible says on this most important and oftentimes confusing topic, then this book is essential reading!!!

click for details | | Exegetical & Theological Commentary on the Epistle to the Hebrews Robert Paul Martin
An excerpt from the pages of Dr. Robert Martin’s Commentary on the Epistle to the Hebrews
Hebrews 1:1–2a God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to
the fathers by the prophets, 2a has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.
“In these opening verses, the writer, of course, implies that God did not say everything at once. He points to two great epochs of God’s speaking — one which concluded “in time past” (or, better yet, “long ago”), the other which has occurred “in these last days.” Hebrews thus begins with the comparison of these two great epochs of revelatory history. These epochs are governed by two great covenants and revelations — the Mosaic/old covenant and the better/new covenant — that is, by God’s revelation in Moses and the prophets and by his revelation in his Son. The old covenant is marked by incompleteness and anticipation and is preliminary and temporary. The new covenant, however, is marked by completeness and fulfillment and is final and permanent.
“In the course of his letter, the writer says much about differences in these revelations and covenants; however, we also must keep in view their basic unity and continuity. God is the source of both revelations.”

Rob Ventura mines the rich doctrinal truths of the book of Romans and offers quick, accessible, expository nuggets for preachers and teachers.
Each section highlights:
A central theme
A homiletical outline
Exegetical and practical insights
Applications for believers
Applications for non-believers
The exegesis of the original Greek is presented clearly without being highly technical. Readers are aided on their journey by some of church history's finest, including Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, and Lloyd-Jones. An excellent addition to any preacher's study, this book will enrich your preaching and cause your heart to marvel anew at the astounding grace of God.
ENDORSEMENTS
"Rob Ventura’s thoroughly Reformed exposition of Paul’s greatest epistle is packed full of insights for preachers and teachers of God’s Word. His approach strikes an excellent balance. He discusses the details of each verse without getting overly technical. He quotes great theologians of the Augustinian/Reformed tradition while letting the Scriptures speak for themselves. His commentary is exegetical, doctrinal, and warmly practical, containing helpful applications for both believers and unbelievers at the end of every section. This is a reliable and highly recommended exposition for people who want to be like Ezra in studying, obeying, and teaching God’s Word (Ezra 7:10)."—Dr. Joel R. Beeke, President, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan
"In Rob Ventura’s commentary on the book of Romans, he states that Paul’s purpose in writing this letter to this church was fivefold: biographical, theological, practical, pastoral, and missional. The same can be said about this new work. Furthermore, its deep insights and simplicity make it useful to all believers — the seasoned expositor, the Sunday school teacher, the parent leading family devotions, and the recent convert." —Paul Washer, Founder and Director of HeartCry Missionary Society
"As readers, as ministers, as pastors, we can never get to the bottom of Romans. Rob Ventura in his study of the letter particularly assists those who preach and teach the epistle. This commentary is carefully outlined with helpful exegetical comments along with theological reflection. It especially stands out for its focus on application and for quotes from luminaries from the past." —Dr. Tom Schreiner, James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament Interpretation, The Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky
"If preachers around the world were to expound on Romans, as Steven J. Lawson in his foreword to this commentary wishes they would, they might think it too daunting a task. The sheer number of commentaries on Romans is overwhelming, and they are often aimed at the academy of scholars rather than the pastor of a local church. Rob Ventura has mined these resources, includes a list of his favorite evangelical commentaries for preaching through Romans, and provides his own solid and theologically grounded insights in a way that is most helpful for those who have the weekly charge to proclaim God’s Word. For each section, he lays out the general theme, provides a homiletical outline, a summary, key exegetical and practical insights (the latter are often alliterative). What is unique is his inclusion of suggested applications from the text for the non-Christian. His diligent research covering the long history of the interpretation of Romans and his own discerning reading of the text will be a most welcome resource for pastors. I highly recommend it." —Dr. David E. Garland, Professor of Christian Scriptures, George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University
"With flair but no fluff, this well-organized study models how to think through Romans from the ground up. It will aid preachers and teachers in grasping both the stately trees (verses) and magnificent forest (the whole epistle) of the sublime gospel presentation called Romans. Notable features include (1) effective citation of dozens of commentators from previous centuries, (2) careful attention to the Greek text, and (3) the author's zeal to see people saved through Jesus the Messiah whom Romans presents. We all need Him. This book skillfully unpacks, and packages for the reader, the power of God for salvation contained and explained in Romans." —Dr. Robert W. Yarbrough, Professor of New Testament, Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO, USA
"This is a splendidly rich and extremely useful volume, written in a style reminiscent of Spurgeon's Treasury of David. It abounds with pithy outlines of the biblical text, insightful exegetical analysis, select quotations from classic commentaries, and suggested points of application. From now on, this will be the first resource I'll turn to when studying any passage from Romans." —Phil Johnson, executive director, Grace to You, the media ministry of John MacArthur
"There are few books of Scripture more important to understand and expound than Paul's great epistle to the Romans. Its doctrinal exposition of the gospel is unique in Scripture. But it is crucially important to communicate its profound teachings practically, popularly, and passionately. This is the value of Rob Ventura's exposition of the book. He provides the student and the preacher with a clear and straightforward exposition and also potent and timely application of the letter. May God give Rob's work wonderful usefulness in spreading Romans life-changing gospel truths." —Dr. Sam Waldron, President, of Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary and One of the Pastors of Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky
"Rob Ventura is an author, scholar, and pastor-preacher with the gift of expressing New Testament theology in clear, elegant prose. Reading him in full flow in his new commentary on Romans affords the simple pleasure of watching an expert do what they do best. He has plundered the finest commentators on this letter giving the book a delightful fragrance, and so, has put every succeeding expositor and preacher of Romans in his debt. In this fine achievement, he clothes conservative evangelical proclamation with a refreshing intellectual rigor. For everyone whose task and delight it is to explain the meaning and relevance of the Word of God, this book is an indispensable resource. Not only does it help us understand the meaning of this mighty letter but, from the manifested principles of interpretation and application, it illumines all of Scripture's relevance to us. Tolle Lege! Take up and read!" —Dr. Geoff Thomas, former pastor for over fifty years of Alfred Place Baptist Church (Independent), Aberystwyth, Wales

click for details | | A REVOLUTIONARY READING OF ROMANS 13: A Biblical Case for Lawful Subjection to the Civil Magistrate and Dutiful Resistance to Tyrants Timothy L. Decker
THIS BRAND NEW TITLE IS FINALLY AVAILABLE ON APRIL 10, 2024
Does Romans 13 command Christians a near unqualified obedience toward the civil magistrate? Is there an appropriate occasion and even a duty to resist tyranny, even if the tyranny is not sinful, per se? The aim of this book is to shed light on the fact that Paul's appeal for submission to governmental authorities in Romans 13 is far narrower than it so often gets treated. The many events and crises of 2020 revealed the broad brush strokes Christians often painted with it and thereby abuse of it. It is here argued that the apostle Paul wrote Romans 13 within a specific historical context, a pastoral occasion if you will, to take up the matter of warding off the common Jewish revolutionary spirit so pervasive in that period. Such a sentiment of private revolution among church members of Rome would have undermined a Gentile government and thereby destroyed the gospel influence of the Christian church in Rome. In this way, this book offers a revolutionary reading of Romans 13—that Paul opposed private revolution among private citizens. Therefore, rightly understood, Romans 13 teaches lawful subjection to the civil magistrate while at the same time affirming a Christian's duty to resist tyranny.

"By placing Paul’s famous pericope about believers and the civil magistrate into contextual perspective, Dr. Decker has provided God’s people with a helpful analysis of Romans 13:1–7. With exegetical acumen supplemented by historical sensitivity, the reader will better understand how this text fits the larger context of Scripture and will be aided by careful application." -James M. Renihan, President, International Reformed Baptist Seminary
"It is always gratifying to see increased exegetical clarity with regard to an important passage of Scripture. It is especially gratifying when that clarity provides timely, practical guidance to the believer. Such clarity and practicality are the blessed results of Tim Decker’s study on Romans 13. I have been convinced for many years of his exegetical approach to and understanding of Romans 13 and have defended it in my Political Revolution in the Reformed Tradition: An Historical and Biblical Critique. Recent events in the church and society have only emphasized both the doctrinal and practical necessity of this understanding of Romans 13. May God give this book great influence!" -Sam Waldron, Pastor, Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Owensboro, KY, President, Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary
"Christians are tasked with the difficult duty of navigating the “city of man” as citizens of the “city of God,” and as we do so, we look to the Word of the King for instruction on how to do so well in both cities. As the city of man morphs from affording “peaceful and quiet lives” (1 Timothy 2) to the saints of God to challenging some of the basic tenets of natural law, Christians return ad fontes. A key text for understanding our duties in the common kingdom is Romans 13, and Timothy Decker walks his readers through cultural, textual, and theological issues at play in this locus classicus. Pastors need tools in their belts as they help Christ’s people lead godly and honorable lives under the civil government. Decker’s work will be one such tool, contributing to your thinking as you prepare to lead the people entrusted to your care." -Daniel Scheiderer, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Chambersburg, PA, Professor of Systematic Theology at IRBS, Author of Still Confessing
"Dr. Timothy Decker’s new book, 'A Revolutionary Reading of Romans 13: A Biblical Case for Lawful Subjection to the Civil Magistrate and Dutiful Resistance to Tyrants', is a book that needed to be written and that needs to be read by our generation, both pastors and laypeople alike. As Dr. Decker notes, the recent COVID-19 crisis has exposed a great deal of confusion in the Christian church regarding the true meaning and implications of Romans 13:1–7 as well as other texts in Scripture that address the precise nature of the believer’s relationship to the civil authorities. He effectively challenges the shallow assumption that Christians and churches are simply to obey the dictates of the government under which we live, no matter what, unless we are specifically required to do something egregiously sinful. The matter, as he demonstrates, is not quite that simple. This book is marked by careful, detailed, and yet engaging exegesis of the relevant passages. It also interacts with the history of Christian thought as Dr. Decker demonstrates that we are not the first Christians to wrestle with these issues. Many have thought hard about them and have written about them before us from whom we can learn. Especially helpful in that regard are the chapters in which he writes about what is called the lesser magistrate doctrine that was hammered out from Scripture and handed down by our forefathers, his treatment of the issue of sphere sovereignty and of tyranny biblically defined. These chapters are gold! But he doesn’t merely leave his treatment at the exegetical, theological, and historical level; it is also marked by very practical and helpful application. I am very thankful God put it into the heart of this brother to write this book and for how well it is written. I highly recommend it!" -Jeffery Smith, Pastor, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Coconut Creek, FL, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Reformed Baptist Seminary
"Anyone who lived and labored through the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and beyond will have surely encountered the invocation of “Romans 13” in the relevant discourse. How ought people have responded to the various government mandates? Were these mandates wise or lawful? And if one’s conscience was violated, does he have a duty to then “defy tyrants” (as was alleged by some), or must he heed the admonitions in Romans 13 (as alleged by others) and simply comply with the mandates of the God-ordained authorities who are over him? It seemed a horrendous dichotomy: loyalty to Scripture pitted against loyalty to one’s family and neighbors, obedience to the dictates of Romans 13 vs. the dictates of one’s conscience. Throw in some confusing mandates and contradictory data claims, and many Christians were left in an ethical lurch. In this impressive volume, Dr. Timothy Decker does the hard work of diving deep into the exegetical, contextual, and hermeneutical factors that inform our understanding of Romans 13. Does Romans 13 require simple, blanket obedience to state mandates, as many Christians understand? Is there, perhaps, more nuance and complexity at play in the background of this much-contested chapter of Paul’s letter? While one may not agree with all of Dr. Decker’s premises or conclusions, one will still be biblically stimulated, challenged, and perhaps even encouraged as he thinks through the intricacies of the church’s relation to the state in a more theologically informed way." -Sean G. Morris, Academic Dean, Blue Ridge Institute for Theological Education
The Lord granted Pastor Timothy Decker repentance and faith when he was 19 years old. After attending Bible college and meeting his wife Liz there, he started his first pastorate in eastern NC. He has also ministered in Honduras as well as the mountains of Virginia. During those times, God was constantly reforming him. On November 11, 2018 Timothy was ordained as an elder at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church. Along with his pastoral ministry, Dr. Decker is also a professor of New Testament and Greek at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary, International Reformed Baptist Seminary, and the Blue Ridge Institute for Theological Education. He and Liz were married August 6, 2005 and have 4 children.

He has also done what few scholars ever have the opportunity or courage to do - he has reset the terms of debate for an entire denomination of churches. Albert Mohler, Jr., President, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky

Our Lord is the One who gives 'pastors and teachers to equip the saints for works of ministry' (Ephesians 4:11-12). We thank God for raising Tom up in our day and using him mightily in the effort to defend the authority of Scripture and recover the gospel that it reveals. Our hope is that this book, which addresses subjects that Tom himself has emphasized in his teaching and writing, will also prove useful in showing that all that we are and have is truly by God's grace and for His glory." - From the Introduction, Tom Ascol, Senior Pastor, Grace Baptist Church, Cape Coral, Florida

click for details | | A MAN AS PRIEST IN HIS HOME: The Preeminent Challenge Facing Every Christian Husband and Father Samuel Waldron with Benjamin Hoak
"As the head of my home, I am deeply thankful for this practical book. It is extremely helpful. Waldron has not only provided useful direction and encouragement but has also instilled fresh zeal and motivation to take my role as husband and father more seriously. I eagerly recommend this to every Christian husband and father. May God use it to strengthen homes around the world." —Jeffrey D. Johnson, Pastor, Grace Bible Church
"THIS IS A GREAT BOOK TO USE FOR A MEN'S STUDY GROUP, It is also a book for a father to use with older sons, to help prepare them for marriage and family. It is simple and straightforward, and always rooted in the text of Holy Scripture." - Michael Gaydosh, founder of Solid Grouind Christian Books
This important book begins with these words - "The concern in this book is rooted in the great calling to serve one another. As Christian husbands and fathers, how should we view our ministry to our family? When our teenager has just vaulted into the annals of history with the stupidity and sinfulness of his behavior, how should we respond? When we let our wives down, how do we respond? When our families are struggling, how do we help them? What kind of ministry should we have in our home?
To support the ultimate conclusion of this book that a man serves as a priest in his home, we must begin with the idea that all Christian ministry is priestly in character. When we talk about ministry, we're referring not just to the official duties of pastors, but to the whole spectrum of dealings among Christians, including such things as counseling, teaching, praying, rebuking, encouraging, helping, etc. To prove the idea that all Christian ministry is priestly in character, we'll look at four arguments."
Waldron and Hoak then walk us through ten concise but meaty chapters intended to define what it means for a man to be priest in his home, defend this position against attacks from inside and outside the church, and describe how this priestly work is to be carried out in the midst of a family stained by sin. This is a challenging book which concludes with a strong word of HOPE in the closing chapter.

3. THE CLASSIC PORTRAIT - The Example of Job

7. PRIESTLY ROLE # 4 - A Man as an Iinstructor in Sacred Scripture
8. PRIESTLY ROLE # 5 - A Man as a Judge in Holy Things
9. SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS - Blamelessness, Compassion & Faithfulness
10. HOPE FOR A MAN AS A PRIEST IN HIS HOME
The book concludes with the following encouragement: "How will we ever become the kind of man God wants us to be? Again and again, when our sins are set before us, and we feel our weakness, our lack of compassion, our inconsistency and defectiveness, those issues should drive us back to Jesus Christ. He is the one who says, 'He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'' He is the one who, as Paul says, will transform us from glory to glory when we behold Him (2 Corinthians 3:18).
That transformation takes place when we live in the presence of Jesus Christ. Like Moses, who dwelt in the presence of God's glory on the mountain, our faces will shine with His glory. We have to live with Christ. We've got to wake up with Him. We've got to walk with Him. We've got to end the day with Him. We have to be with Him always. We have to read His Word and speak to Him. As we do, the glory of what Christ is as a priest will begin to enlighten us as well. May God grant it to be so for each one of us."

click for details | | BETTER THAN THE BEGINNING: Creation in Biblical Perspective Richard Barcellos
"Creation is controversial, and truly we need to defend biblical doctrine concerning the origin of all things. Yet sometimes in the midst of controversy we can lose sight of the purpose of creation itself. Richard Barcellos uses the creation of the world like a great telescope to look up at the beauty of the Creator. His book focuses our attention on the triune God in Christ. He draws his doctrine from a careful exposition of the Bible, applies it to our practical lives, and calls us to sing the praises of Him who is worthy, 'for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created' (Rev. 4:11). This is an edifying book, and I hope that many will read it." - Joel R. Beeke
"Although many Christians have been engaged in a life-or-death battle to defend the truth of creation against evolutionary attacks coming from inside and outside the church, there has been little exploration of the doctrine of creation in all its glorious height, depth, width, and length. Richard Barcellos has begun to remedy this neglect with a God-glorifying, soul-edifying, life-transforming survey of this majestic and practical subject." - David P. Murray, Ph.D.
"Christ brings the creation train derailed by Adam to its original glorious destination! This insight is vital to an understanding of the gospel and the vital, scriptural distinction between the law and the gospel. May God give this volume great usefulness!" - Samuel E. Waldron, Ph.D.

click for details | | THE RISEN CHRIST CONQUERS MARS HILL: Classic Discourses on Paul's Ministry in Athens Manton, Watson, Edwards, Davies, Dick, Thornwell, Eadie, Ryle, Warfield, Stonehouse, Van Til & Bahnsen, Foreword by Sinclair Ferguson
We have gathered together a full dozen champions of the faith to expound upon Paul's ministry in Athens. It is believed that traversing this powerful passage in Acts 17 will deepen our faith in the risen and conquering Lord. We have decided to list these works in the order in which they were delivered, thus Thomas Manton is first and Greg Bahnsen is last. Although there will certainly be some repetition of thoughts and ideas, it is believed that the various gifts and approaches of each man will give a freshness to each discourse.
SINCLAIR FERGUSON wrote the Foreword in which he says, "From the opening exposition of a seventeenth century Westminster Divine to the closing expositions of three twentieth century scholars associated with Westminster Seminary, 'The Risen Christ Conquers Mars Hill' is a brilliantly conceived compilation of studies calculated both to educate and to stimulate. Paul's great sermon to the intellectual elite of a declining Athens is one of the great moments in Church history. It well repays careful study for its foundational theology, its methodology as a presentation of the gospel of God to a pagan audience, and for the passion for Christ that lay behind it. Here is careful theological exegesis, biblical doctrine, practical application, and sharp-edged apologetics all in one volume. The result? A book that cannot fail to instruct the mind, encourage confidence in the gospel's integrity, and challenge the church to a new boldness in witnessing to our paganism-restoring culture."
DR. JOEL BEEKE wrote, "This fascinating collection of addresses on an important issue in our day is a gold mine, full of practical guidance for effective evangelizing and apologetics. It is amazing how contemporary these writers can sound when addressing how to relate to the unsaved who reject the gospel. We may perhaps find new venues to speak into but the message of the gospel remains eternally the same, and our forbears have a great deal to teach us about how to communicate that message. Tolle lege (take up and read)--and pray and do!"
DR. SAM WALDRON said the following about this upcoming volume: "Few passages are as important as Acts 17 for the subjects of apologetics and evangelism in this post-modern age. And few passages have over the years been more badly misinterpreted than Paul's address to the Areopagus in Athens. Let me especially commend the articles by Stonehouse, Bahnsen, and Van Til towards the end of this volume. They are worth the price by themselves."
THE LATE DR. ROBERT PAUL MARTIN added, "Paul's address at Mars Hill gives us a glimpse into how the gospel was effectively preached in a thoroughly pagan culture, such as the one in which we now live. Gleaning the best treatments of this address from past ages, Solid Ground has given us a primer on how to speak to our contemporaries."

| | | | THE GOSPEL CALL AND TRUE CONVERSION: Recovering the Gospel: Volume Two PAUL WASHER
The apostle Paul gave the gospel the first place in his preaching, endeavored with all his might to proclaim it clearly, and even went so far as to pronounce a curse upon all those who would pervert its truth. Yet how sad it is that many, even among those considering themselves evangelicals, have reduced the gospel message to a few trite statements to be repeated, and view conversion as a mere human decision. In The Gospel Call and True Conversion, Paul Washer challenges such easy believism as he examines the real meaning of things like faith, repentance, and receiving Christ. He also deals extensively with the effects of saving grace that God promises in the new covenant; namely, the creation of new hearts and new people.

Series Descriptions Although the Recovering the Gospel Series does not represent an entirely systematic presentation of the gospel, it does address most of the essential elements, especially those that are most neglected in contemporary Christianity. It is the hope of the author that these words might be a guide to help you rediscover the gospel in all its beauty, scandal, and saving power. It is his prayer that such a rediscovery might transform your life, strengthen your proclamation, and bring the greatest glory to God.
Author Paul Washer ministered as a missionary in Peru for ten years, during which time he founded the HeartCry Missionary Society to support Peruvian church planters. Paul now serves as one of the laborers with the HeartCry Missionary Society (www.heartcrymissionary.com). He and his wife, Charo, have three children: Ian, Evan, and Rowan.
Endorsements: "In an age awash with easy believism, we need voices like Paul Washer's that remind us of The Gospel Call and True Conversion. We are all tempted to believe that we are 'beyond the basics' and in need of something more - something new. However, Washer reminds us that there is nothing more important and more relevant than getting the gospel right, making the gospel clear, and trusting that gospel to do its work of calling, saving, and securing a people to God and for God. Praise God for the gospel and books like this that help us know, understand, and love it more deeply." - Voddie Baucham, pastor of preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, and author of The Ever-Loving Truth
"Being a Christian is not just a matter of 'making a decision for Jesus' or 'turning over a new leaf.' It is a miracle of grace in which a sinner is brought by God's power from death to life. In The Gospel Call and True Conversion, Paul Washer brilliantly and clearly helps the reader understand that truth, carefully opening the Scriptures and explaining how the power of the gospel ought to impact our lives as Christians. A much-needed, pastoral, and challenging book!" - Greg Gilbert, senior pastor of Third Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and author of What Is the Gospel?
"By God's sovereign grace, Paul Washer's ministry has been particularly blessed to instruct this generation in the basics of true conversion and the gospel call. I highly commend this careful but simple treatment of these vital issues. May God bless it to the preparation of His people to share the gospel of peace and to the salvation of many persons." - Sam Waldron, academic dean and professor of systematic theology at the Midwest Center for Theological Studies, Owensboro, Kentucky

| | | | THE HOLY SPIRIT AND REFORMED SPIRITUALITY A Tribute to the the Life & Ministry of Geoffrey Thomas Edited by Joel R. Beeke and Derek W. Thomas
How does God bring His Word into our lives? The answer is: by the Holy Spirit. By the Spirit the Word was revealed and written. By the Spirit the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. By the Spirit the Word roots itself in the hearts of sinners and produces fruit. Calvin recognized long ago that the Holy Spirit is the bond of union between believers and Christ. Jonathan Edwards said that the Spirit is the sum of all Christ bought for His people with His precious blood. How precious then is the Spirit, and how important to know Him and His ways! In this book, a team of pastor-theologians uncover the rich biblical teachings about the work of the Holy Spirit. How was the Spirit involved in the human life of Jesus Christ? What is a spiritual person? How does the Spirit open the mind of sinners to trust in Christ? What does it mean to serve God in the power of the Spirit? How does the SpiritÆs sovereign work relate to our responsibility in evangelism? These questions and more are addressed in this book.

click for details | | GOD WITHOUT PASSIONS: A Reader Edited by Samuel Renihan; Foreword by Carl Trueman
Subtitled A Reader, the primary purpose of the material presented in this book is to familiarize the reader with sixteenth- and seventeenth-century English language sources pertinent to the doctrine of divine impassibility, particularly for those who confess with the Reformed confessions that God is 'without body, parts, or passions.' If this material is studied carefully, the reader will encounter an excellent and diverse array of writings that touch on this subject.
230 pages
Published 2015
If you are interested in the doctrine of God, and especially in understanding how sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Reformed theologians argued for divine impassibility, this book is for you. Samuel Renihan has collected the words of sixty theologians from the Reformation and post-Reformation era in order to help readers understand the classical doctrine of divine impassibility which is sorely misunderstood in our day.
Foreword by Carl. R. Trueman. Endorsements by James Dolezal, Paul Helm, Michael Horton, David VanDrunen, and Sam Waldron.
"Samuel Renihan has brought together a first-rate collection of mainly Reformed and Particular Baptist thinking on the doctrine of God, particularly his impassibility, which goes back to the church Fathers. This aspect of God's nature is much misunderstood and caricatured at present, such a God being thought to be withdrawn, apathetic, even psychotic. But these extracts show that the reverse is the case. Impassibility indicates the fullness of God's care for his creation. For he is not subject to fits, or spasms, or moods, or passions." - Paul Helm, Emeritus Professor, University of London

This volume of essays is offered in honor of Dr. James M. Renihan. Because he is a historical theologian, most of the essays cover issues in that field of study. But because he is much more than a historical theologian, colleagues and friends of Dr. Renihan were asked to contribute essays covering the various branches of the theological encyclopedia. The efforts here reflect the contributorsÆ esteem for their brother and the impact he has had in a wide range of theological inquiry and praxis.
The publisher is pleased to present these essays in honor of an esteemed friend and teacher. Many have been helped tremendously by Dr. Renihan's friendship, scholarship, counsel, and faithfulness to Christ and his calling as pastor and theologian.

Rob Ventura, the General Editor of this new series of Theological Volumes, writes, "I'm excited to announce that the long-awaited theological works of Greg Nichols will be coming out soon. We hope to have the first of seven volumes ready by December this year or by January next year. If you would, please keep the project in prayer. See the endorsements below we have already received -
"I have waited for 20 years to see these lectures finally delivered to us in book form. Though Greg Nichols has evidently interacted with the great Systematic theologians of the past, the contents of these pages are no mere echoes of a bygone era. He has used his gifts and applied his mind in his vintage years to build on this historic foundation and bequeathed to the church a Systematic Theology that is both biblically based and historically fresh. If these are the first fruits, I wonder what the other volumes will be like!" -Dr. Conrad Mbewe, Chancellor of the African Christian University and Principal of the Lusaka Ministerial College in Lusaka, Zambia
"In a day full of light books, Greg Nichols has given us a treatment on the attributes of God in a manner so thoroughly Biblical as to establish the adoration of our Lord upon the firmest of foundations. Here we find gems worth mining. Here is solid nourishment for the head and heart of every hungry believer." - John Snyder, Christ Church, New Albany, Mississippi, Authored 'Behold Your GodÆ, PhD. "You are worthy, our Lord and our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power: for you did create all things, and because of your will they were, and were created (Rev. 4:11)." Even as we should approach the doctrine of God with profound awe of divine grandeur, so also we should study the doctrine of man with a deep sense of human smallness and lowliness, with biblical humility. We should study man with the perspective that in comparison to God, man is miniscule and laden with moral poverty. We only achieve this biblical demeanor to the extent that we view human life against the backdrop of God’s Being. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit who wrote this perspective into the Bible would be present with us throughout these studies, and that he would cause a deep sense of the majesty of God’s Being to pervade our view of man. May God write this perspective on our hearts and grant us grace to study man with genuine humility. Only then can we profitably embrace the biblical doctrine of man. Only then can we study the original creation unto the honor and glory of God. (Excerpt from the book)
“Calvin said that our wisdom largely consists in knowing God and knowing ourselves. The doctrine of man plays a crucial role in every aspect of our lives. Greg Nichols offers us a feast of biblical teaching on our creation and fall, and God’s common grace to sinners. This is sound, enlightening, convicting, humbling, and encouraging theology done with both eyes on the Word of God. Buy, read, and be edified by growing in knowing yourself and God.” — Dr. Joel R. Beeke, President, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, MI
“Pastor Greg Nichols lectures on the doctrine of man had a profound and lasting and blessed effect for good on my thinking many years ago at the Trinity Ministerial Academy. My hope and prayer is that others through this volume will find a similar impact on their thinking and lives through this same means. I remember in particular the usefulness of his lectures on the image of God. May God mightily bless this book for good!” — Dr. Sam Waldron, Dean and Professor of Systematic Theology at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary, Owensboro, KY
Greg Nichols has been pastoring and teaching systematic theology for over three decades. Greg formerly taught at Trinity Ministerial Academy in Montville, New Jersey and now teaches for Reformed Baptist Seminary. He has also taught modular courses throughout the United States and in the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Columbia. Since 1994 he has been a pastor at Grace Immanuel Reformed Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he lives with his wife Ginger.

click for details | | THE THEOLOGY OF THE REFORMATION Benjamin B. Warfield
In 1917, at the 400th anniversary of the Reformation, Benjamin B. Warfield wrote this outstanding article which appeared in The Biblical Review which was published by The Biblical Seminary in New York. Here Warfield set forth, as only he could, the true Heart of the Reformation. In opposition to many in his day who were seeking to find the genius and the genesis of the Reformation in something other than theology, Warfield wrote: "The Reformation was then - we insist upon it - precisely the substitution of one set of theological doctrines for another. That is what it was to Luther; and that is what, through Luther, it has been to the Christian world. Exactly what Luther did was for himself - for the quieting of his aroused conscience and the healing of his deepened sense of sin - to rediscover the great fact, the greatest of all the great facts of which sinful man can ever become aware, that salvation is by the pure grace of God alone."
"Like his younger colleague at 'Old Princeton,' J. Gresham Machen, Warfield believed that the Christian faith is capable of scholarly defense. In this study, Warfield takes on fallacious, dismissive views of the Reformation set forth by the foremost historian of the early twentieth century, Charles Beard. Warfield shows what the Reformation was at its heart, and how its doctrines alone account for its astonishing power and its manifold effects as a movement in history. And he does so thoroughly armed with forceful arguments and substantial evidence, in a style unsurpassed for sanity, clarity, and more than a bit of scintillating dash. Recommended reading for all Reformed Christians!" - Dr. Joel R. Beeke, President, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan
"B B Warfield was a remarkable Christian author, equally at home in Church History and systematic theology as biblical studies. He is remembered today primarily for his robust theology of biblical inerrancy, but there are many other reasons to remember him. In particular, in this quincentennial of the Reformation, Warfield's cogent reflections on theásignificance of the Reformation are important documents to read. Very glad to see these texts back in circulation!" - Dr. Michael Haykin, Professor of Church Histroy, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY
Sam Waldron wrote: "One of my sons is named after Benjamin Breckenridge Warfield. áso you might guess that I love his stuff.á Over the years and especially in my early years he became my teacher on many, many issues.á Even on the rare occasion when I disagree with him, he remains so very helpful and informative.á I welcome the publication of these works by Solid Ground."
This new booklet is the first of a new series entitled SGCB REFORMATION 500 which will introduce vitally important works to the church and the world as we approach the 500th anniversary of Luther's act of naling the 95 Theses to the Church Door at Wittenburg.

click for details | | THE NINETY-FIVE THESES IN THEIR THEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE Benjamin B Warfield
In 1917, at the 400th anniversary of the Reformation, Benjamin B. Warfield wrote this outstanding article which appeared in The Princeton Theological Review. Once again Warfield found himself standing in opposition to the opinions of many in his day who were very critical of the 95 Theses of Luther. Warfield corrected one of these notions when he wrote: "The Theses constitute, in point of fact, a theological document of the first importance, working out a complete and closely knit argument against, not the abuses of the indulgence traffic, and not even the theory of indulgences, merely, but the whole sacerdotal conception of the saving process; an outgrowth and embodiment of which indulgences were."
"Foundational documents are often more revered as sacred totems or set up as straw men to attack, than read, studied, and rightly understood on their own terms. Warfield shows that such has been the case with Luther's famous Ninety-five Theses. He sets out to show that far from addressing only one objectionable practice of the day, Luther's theses call in question 'the entire prevalent theory of the relation of the Church as the institute of the salvation of souls,' that is, the gospel or way of salvation as proclaimed by the pre-Reformation church. He goes on to show that those who underestimate the Theses as a theological statement are so wide of the mark as to suggest that they never read them. And as always, Warfield depends on erudition, clear-headed thinking, and a gracious yet forceful style. A 'must read' for those who want to know what the Reformation truly was in its beginnings." - Dr. Joel R. Beeke, President, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids,

BACK IN STOCK ONCE AGAIN IN JANUARY 2023.
**REDUCED PRICE FOR OUR HOUSE CLEANING SALE!!
A Modern Exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith by Sam Waldron This 5th Edition is the definitive version, and is presented in hardback.
Modern Christianity is awash in a flood of doctrinal relativity. Satan and his forces love the imprecision and ambiguity which are rampant in our day. As C. H. Spurgeon observed, 'The archenemy of truth has invited us to level our walls and take away our fenced cities.'
This exposition was originally published in 1989 to mark the 300th anniversary of the publication of the Second London Confession, which also became known as the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. Today, Reformed Baptists world-wide hold this Confession in high esteem and many churches continue to regard it as their official statement of faith.
In this extensive exposition, the author Sam Waldron shows that the 1689 Confession is a masterly statement of the historic Christian faith. He writes in a direct and lucid style that will help ministers, students and laymen alike to a clear understanding of this Confession and to its relevance and application to our modern age.
BONUS SECTION # 1- Included in this publication is a very helpful introduction on 'The Legitimacy and Use of Confessions' by the late Dr. Robert Paul Martin, who is now in glory but was formerly Pastor of Emmanuel Reformed Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington.
BONUS SECTION # 2- At the back of the book there are 25 pages of helpful Study Questions (more than 300 in all) that will help to review all the contents of this invaluable book, and serve useful for teaching within the church and the family.
'This is one of my favorite confessional commentaries. It does vary (sometimes more, sometimes less) from studies on the Westminster Confession because of its baptistic approach, but Waldron is an excellent writer, and he has the advantage of being our contemporary. His examples and discussions of issues on which the WCF and LBCF are the same (Creation, Justification, Election, Sabbath, etc.) are excellent. This book is very well organized and clear.' Fred Greco, Senior Pastor, Christ Church PCA, Katy, Texas
Dr. Sam Waldron is the Dean of Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary and Professor of Systematic Theology (cbtseminary.org). Dr. Waldron received a B.A. from Cornerstone University, completed studies equivalent to an M. Div. at Trinity Ministerial Academy, obtained a Th.M. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, and attained a Ph.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. From 1977 to 2001 he was one of the pastors of the Reformed Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, MI. He is now one of the pastors of Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY.

In Thundering the Word, Kurt Smith labors to unpack a fresh biography of Whitefield, fixing attention on the years 1736–1742, which S. M. Houghton described as “the most dramatic and remarkable period of Whitefield’s life.” Here we see Whitefield as the gospel awakener par excellence, preaching Christ at the center of revivals on both sides of the Atlantic, while defending gospel truth in the face of error propagated by his closest friends. Assessing this season of Whitefield’s life in honest, pastoral candor, Smith helps us appreciate who George Whitefield was and why his faith should matter as worthy of imitation but only to that degree where it points us to Christ.

Endorsements
“In this, the 250th anniversary year of Whitefield’s death, Kurt Smith has produced a challenging, devotional, and balanced look at a man and preacher used mightily by God to call sinners to repentance.” - Sam Waldron
“I truly hope that Thundering the Word will have a wide reading to the glory of Whitefield’s God and that the Lord will use it to provoke another generation of godly men to preach the faith once for all delivered to the saints in the power of the Spirit for Jesus’ sake.” - Jerry Slate Jr.
“The life of the eighteenth century’s most celebrated evangelist and preacher is told with clarity and cultural sensitivity. The Whitefield that emerges is that of a passionate evangelist, a pragmatic entrepreneur, an astute citizen of the British Empire, and alas, a flawed, culturally compromised individual. A most valuable read.” - Derek W. H. Thomas
“The life of George Whitefield is a life worth celebrating. It is a life worth reading and knowing about. It is a life that was lived for the glory of God and accompanied by the power and authority of heaven. The clarity in which Kurt Smith speaks of the divine power behind the passionate and effectual preaching of this great evangelist is simply captivating.” - Jeffrey D. Johnson
“Kurt Smith writes as a convinced but thoughtful advocate, not blind to Whitefield’s real faults but persuaded of his gospel virtues. He has caught a little of Whitefield’s spirit, and he wants us to catch it too!” - Jeremy Walker

| | | | MAC ARTHUR'S MILLENNIAL MANIFESTO: A Friendly Response Samuel E. Waldron
At the 2007 Shepherds' Conference, Pastor John MacArthur delivered a controversial message entitled, "Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist is a Premillennialist." In this book, Dr. Sam Waldron addresses the assertions of MacArthur historically, exegetically and theologically. Although his arguments are rigorous, the entire tenor of the book is level-headed and irenic. This "friendly response" grants modern day Amillennialists the opportunity to thoughtfully engage their Dispensational brethren.
"With charity, this book exposes the fallacies--historical, exegetical and theological--inherent in Dr. MacArthur's presentation...Thank you, Dr. Waldron, for showing us how a theological refutation may be done with grace and kindness." - James M. Renihan, Ph.D.
"Samuel Waldron's response to John MacArthur's controversial sermon, "Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist Is a Premillennialist," is a gem. In a gentle spirit, and with an awareness of what is at stake, Waldron makes a persuasive case against MacArthur's unlikely claim that true Calvinists must subscribe to the tenets of dispensational premillennialism." - Cornelis Venema, Ph.D.

This book is the second installment in Dr. Waldron's groundbreaking work, The End Times Made Simple, in which he deftly dismantled the interpretive view that dispensationalists have of prophecy in general. This book goes a step further, arguing that there are consequences to our eschatological (i.e., End Times) views. The reader will find powerful and cogent arguments for a strictly biblical hermeneutic, free from forced interpretations and presuppositions that have little to do with the actual Word of God. Some of the topics covered are how we approach biblical interpretation in general and prophetic interpretation in particular, and whether there is a distinction between Israel and the church, or is the church the 'Israel of God.' This book will change the way the reader approaches the great prophecies of the Bible, and will give the reader a renewed appreciation for the Lord Jesus Christ and His plan for His church.

click for details | | GOING BEYOND THE FIVE POINTS: Pursuing a More Comprehensive Reformation General Editor: Rob Ventura, Contributors: Earl Blackburn, Richard Barcellos, Sam Waldron & Robert P. Martin
In recent years, a doctrinal shift has taken place among believers so great that even the secular press has taken notice. Christians across denominational lines are laying hold of the biblical truth of God's electing love and saving grace in Christ, commonly called 'Calvinism.' For many, this marks the beginning of a deeper study into the whole counsel of God in Scripture. A thirst to be thoroughly biblical in all areas of life is driving a more comprehensive present-day reformation beyond the famous 'five points.' This book captures the voices of seasoned Reformed pastors graciously guiding and encouraging Christ's beloved sheep to press on and to seek the 'old paths, where the good way is' (Jer. 6:16). In this anthology you will be instructed concerning the abiding relevance of the Ten Commandments, God-centered worship, the masterful unfolding of God's great plan of redemption through divine covenants, the identity, nature, and work of the church, and the help that confessions of faith lend to our grasp of God's glorious Word.

ENDORSEMENTS
"The rediscovery of 'the doctrines of grace' among Baptists during the last sixty years has thrilled my heart! However, this welcome advance does not make a reformation. The further necessary questions of 'what is the church?' 'how should we worship God?' 'what is Christ like living?' stand before us still, begging for biblical reformation. 'Going Beyond the Five Points' provides clear biblical direction for reforming churches today. Barcellos' defense of the Ten Commandments for Christian living under grace is unassailable. Blackburn's chapters on Covenant Theology and the doctrine of the church are indispensable to Baptist reformation. Waldron's explanation of the Regulative Principle is greatly needed by Baptists to remind us of our foundational principle which needs renewed application to worship and government. Martin's persuasive defense of why Baptists need confessions of faith today is irrefutable. To gather them together as Ventura has done provides a classic standard for further Baptist reformation today. Baptist pastors, students, and church members need to study this book to understand what it means to build biblical and Reformed Baptist churches today for the glory of Christ." - Dr. Fred A. Malone, Senior Pastor First Baptist Church Clinton, Louisiana
"Going Beyond the Five Points is a wonderful pastoral resource to give to any brother or sister in Christ who has begun the journey of better understanding the doctrines of grace. If the Five Points are the appetizer for the hungry believer, these essays will provide a rich and satisfying main course to guide them in a deeper understanding of the truth." - Jim Savastio, Pastor of Reformed Baptist Church of Louisville, Kentucky
"Some truths lie close to the surface, others require more digging. In the substance of this book, you will profit from the groundbreaking labours of others, men who have begun to turn over the soil in order to expose the consequences and applications of a thorough embrace of God's sovereign grace displayed in the salvation of his people, considered not just individually but together. Readers willing to put in the effort will find much to ponder and much from which to profit." - Jeremy Walker, Pastor of Maidenbower Baptist Church in Crawley, England

click for details | | THE END TIMES MADE SIMPLE: How Could Everybody Be So Wrong About Biblical Prophecy? Samuel E. Waldron
Rapture? Pre-Trib? Post-Trib? Millennium? Confused? You should be! In today's Evangelical Christian world, eschatology -- or the study of the "Last Things" -- has been turned into a sort of pseudo-science with a plethora of authors claiming to know exactly the scenario of events that are to take place just prior to the Lord Jesus Christ's return. Piece by piece, Waldron strips away years of false teaching and faulty exegesis thrust upon the church to reveal what the Bible, in its own simple but profound way, says about what will happen at the end of this present age.

| | | | THE IMPORTANCE OF THEOLOGY IN THE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY: Southern California Reformed Baptist Pastors' Conference Papers: Volume One, 2012 Rich Barcellos, Jim Renihan & Sam Waldron
This brand new volume from RBAP contains the eight lectures delivered at the Southern California Reformed Baptist Pastors' Conference held in the Fall of 2012.
"The theme of the 2012 conference was The Importance of Theology in the Christian Ministry. The key-note speaker was Dr. Samuel E. Waldron. The first four chapters of this book are slightly revised editions of his four lectures on theological prolegomena. The
conference also had two guest speakers: Drs. Richard C. Barcellos and James M. Renihan. Chapters five through eight are slightly revised editions of their lectures and are published in the order they were delivered. Because these chapters were delivered as papers at a conference, they were prepared as lectures. Readers may at times detect a lecture feel to what they are reading. The editor attempted to make the papers read more like manuscripts for publication, though he pretends no victory in such an attempt". - from the editor's Preface
